Meet Fred - his food claim to fame is that his dad is Si King, the Geordie one of the Hairy Bikers. Fred should therefore be the best-fed hound in the country… but the Bikers haven't yet diversified into the gourmet dog food market. Give it time.
Si does have his fingers in lots of pies as you'll know only too well. There's the telly pies, ready-meal pies and the cookbook pies. They have just published their seminal work, "Perfect Pies".
Aside from the pie issue, Si has a serious point to make in this editon of fq - he thinks that the region is being sold short when it comes to promoting its food and he's just waiting for the call to fly the flag. This is also the last edition of fq in its current form. We're a moveable feast and in true food-trend style will be going 'pop-up' from next year!
fq will be appearing as a magazine within our sister publication luxe from next March. It means there's more to taste! You will get your fq fix six rather than four times a year as well as enjoying the influential lifestyle content within luxe. Our fq format will stay the same - the intelligent mix of people who make the food business tick, chefs, reviews, food heroes, recipes and columnists.
